this image shows that the model is in a static pose as sitting crossed leg. we can also see that the arms are stretch out which shows open gesture. we line used here help define certain areas of the body for example the thicker lines help define the calf in the legs. the left shoulder seems to be ambiguous as shoulder sticks out far to much. the horizontal mark making on torso helps to form the torso.  

this image is static pose as the model is just sitting in stationary position as sits on bed, the arms do show this image  is an open gesture as arms are open outwards. There been some attempt in showing form in this picture by using pen to create some tone in image. Some areas this works well such as torso, the horizontal mark making with pen help create tone but shapes the model as well  

this image shows that the model is in a static pose as see him sitting on table, his arms closed gesture as the  model keeps them in between his legs. we have strong tones on back which help shape and form the curves in the back and also create a implied line as the strong values curve from back to the leg which help lead viewers across image.
